As 2011 draws to a close and 2012 comes upon us... I would like to insert the event of losing Steve Jobs as the most impactful story that crossed my life this past year. Welcome to the memory bank Steve, you were here before and you will forever remain.
I have yet to read the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. I will some day – but in the meantime I do enjoy reading reviews of the life of Steve Jobs.
After 2 and a half years of “Hit me on my pre-pay!” and GoPhone calculator simplicity… I have finally stepped back into the iPhone world. I can honestly say that I haven’t missed being technical, the trendy factor of owning Apple devices definitely pushed me away from playing in this arena for a while – But now I’m back.
How to simplify Apple’s product offerings. Zone in on the simplification of 1996 – the welcome back Steve Jobs era. The pop chart is not completely complete… but definitely interesting.
I remember when the first time I saw the TV ad, back when it first came out.
It changed my life.
It was the first commercial I’d ever seen in my life, that actually spoke to me, my true self, and not just to, like pretty much EVERY SINGLE OTHER COMMERCIAL out there, whatever short-term, trivial needs I had going on that day.
It was then I knew that I wasn’t just one of the crazy ones, but that it was also IMPERATIVE to actually be one of the crazy ones. That my life and soul demanded it.
It’s not what Steve Jobs created in his his brief but incandescent life- the computers, iPods, iPhones etc etc- that isn’t the big story.
And what we created with his his products, that isn’t the big story, either.
The big story is what Steve helped us believe about ourselves. By putting his balls on the line, again and again, he made it easier for us to do the same.
And so we did.
Thank you, Steve. You will be missed. Of course you frickin’ will…
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
If you would like to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences, please email rememberingsteve@apple.com
I can’t really say how I feel right now… Cheers to Steve Jobs – and thank you for giving me a frame to build my life *around* – It is a sad day. You have already and will seriously be missed :(
I just got connected with these guys. Kickstarter to kickstarter - this device just might be worth re-adapting an iPhone into my pocket. Although I will probably still wait until they announce the GoPhone 5... I hear it has some pretty amazing features coming. Like a color screen.
Hey Greg
Man how’s this for coincidence, I was just checking out the blackbox kickstarter project last night and was thinking these guys are sooooo on the same level as us.
How about we send you a few Opena’s and you send us some blackbox cases???
If your even in Melbourne we need to hook up, drink beer, and talk crap about the world and product development!
We finally launched a project I have been working on early this morning. I have to say that it is scary to put yourself out there like this when you simply just don’t know what can happen. I’m feeling confident that we can get some attention and reach our goal though. These cases are just too well made and gorgeous to not be seen and there are some super good deals for those early adopters.
“Thank you for your support and helping us take Blackbox Case to the next level. As you can see in our pledging limits to the right we have tried to accommodate for nearly anyone who would like to be a part of making this product a success. We have included some fun enhancements for those of you who are looking for that extra effort in truly building a product together and we have provided some excellent deals for you early adopters. Don’t take our light hearted approach of making something unique and home grown the wrong way — We are firm believers in following your passions and making the most of any opportunity that is granted to you. Life is simply too short to not make something amazing.”
Save $20 on an iPad 2 Bamboo Case for the first 100 pledgers… Cheers to the future!
Apple has chosen an Audi edit to showcase the new Final Cut Pro X which was just released today. It is always great to see my number 1 and number 2 brands working together.
Watch this revolutionary edit and look for this shot above (1:05)… and tell me you don’t want to go jump in an Audi R8 and do that.
Although they are currently not available on the http://www.blackboxcase.com store – The new line of Bamboo Apple MacBook Pro sleeve cases have been announced.
Just like their counterpart Oak models – the Bamboo Blackbox Case will fit a 13″, 15″ or 17″ MacBook Pro and will come in two different flavors… Natural Bamboo and Carbonized Brown Bamboo.
