HYDLE – TSOIGDH

In the history of HYDLE.com… this ridiculous “TSOIGDH” entry marks my 999th public blog post since May of 2009 – When I started this crazy world of blogging ideas, thoughts and Genius vs. Not Genius intermanents and social media successes or failures.

So for the sake of getting google credit for it…

“TSOIGDH” = TURNING SHIT ON IT’S GOD DAMN HEAD

Turning shit on it’s god damn head is going to be my 1 single inspiration for the next 999 blogpost entries. I can’t wait to open up my connection layer for all my loyal readers… so I can start finding out who you actually are.

Cheers to 999!

ExxonMobil — Let’s Solve This

[YouTube] <— 23 views Masters marketing from ExxonMobil. This series of 6 motion graphic advertisements caught my attention. I would like to see more captivating follow through once you reach their non-microsite. But not everyone is a Masters.

Still Genius.

Of course they could also figure out how link from a YouTube description field directly to their non-microsite…

Almost Genius.

Norte Beer – Photoblocker

[YouTubeUlar] <— 230 2 commercials for ABInBev's Norte Beer brand featuring the Photoblocker. The one above made me laugh more than this one [125].

Not quite genius… but darn fun.

Hit me on my Pre-Pay

Am I ahead of the curve… or behind?

I feel special – Only 8% of the american public are considering standard cell phone purchases in the future. Which happens to be the exact same percentage of people considering the new Windows phone.

What happened America? Apple used to own only 8% of the ENTIRE computing world… and now they own everything. Yin Yang – maybe a Windows Phone will be my future? Their ad campaign is certainly genius enough.

But since they don’t allow you embed their commercials (horrible microsoft – but traditional to your brand) – they just got dropped to almost.

Not for me.

Hydle Favorite:
Although I am a fan of a couple of these commercials – the key word here is that they are mainly all commercials – and that I am not a fan of. Goviral needs to rethink this batch.

About the Rankings: goviral issues a monthly top-10 list of viral video rankings on its site, including additional commentary about the videos, their approaches and why the firm thinks they are viral or likely to become viral in the future.

2009 Media Elements

In 2009 I averaged just over 69 captured media elements a day which is directly on par with the last three years.

I shot 9,582 videos and 14,304 photos on the canon. 1,421 came from the iPhone which is no longer a daily pocket device for me.

Space Chair

Toshiba is speaking a new language… and you will see this advertisement across their entire product line (TVs, Laptops and Cameras). I like the concept but Grey London lacks the inspiration on the making of video… its actually pathetic.

Almost Genius.
a) YouTube representation is weak.
b) The making of video is weak.
c) www.thechairproject.com isn’t what I expected.

New “Milk” Campaign

Question to DDB, Vancouver:
Why does the 1-877-WEAK-111 number NOT work. Would have been genius … but instead, just weak.

The website is genius.
The ebay shop is genius.
The flickr photostream is genius.
Even the fact you are using both vimeo and YouTube to distribute video is genius.

But without the working phone number … leaves this campaign Almost Genius.
