HYDLE – TSOIGDH

In the history of HYDLE.com… this ridiculous “TSOIGDH” entry marks my 999th public blog post since May of 2009 – When I started this crazy world of blogging ideas, thoughts and Genius vs. Not Genius intermanents and social media successes or failures.

So for the sake of getting google credit for it…

“TSOIGDH” = TURNING SHIT ON IT’S GOD DAMN HEAD

Turning shit on it’s god damn head is going to be my 1 single inspiration for the next 999 blogpost entries. I can’t wait to open up my connection layer for all my loyal readers… so I can start finding out who you actually are.

Cheers to 999!

Hit Golf Ball Farther

Here I present to you the reader (presumably a golfer) five completely simple steps on how to learn how to hit a golf ball harder, farther and longer:

  1. Take a tour through Two Time RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski’s golf swing.
  2. Buy an Adams 9064LD Speedline and then…
  3. Learn how to hit a golf ball 400 yards… and finally,
  4. Give up bowling.
  5. Good luck.

Golf Digest – 60 Stories in 60 Days

Beginning April 1st, Max Adler, Associate Editor of Golf Digest is taking a 60 day golfing road trip in celebration of the magazines 60 years in publication.

What interests me about Max’s adventure is how he is going to pay it back to some of Golf Digest’s real fans and supporters over the years … and his #1 and #2 example stops both revolve around Long Drive (and luck).

1. LONGEST HOLE-IN-ONE DENVER
Michael Crean aced the 517-yard, par-5 ninth at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in 2002.

2. LONG-DRIVE PROVING GROUND / LITTLE ROCK
Long Drive champ Sean (The Beast) Fister poses the same challenge to any upstarts who think they can make it in pro long drive: Carry the Arkansas River from the lawn of the Clinton Presidential Library & Museum. (It’s 360 yards.)

Maybe I will try and document a couple of his 60 stops throughout the nation. They sound like good stories… why wouldn’t you want them on video?

Long Drive Training Begins

March 1st, 2010 – Training for season 2 of long drive begins.

Long Drivers of America (LDA) local qualifiers are popping up all over with the first major event coming up March 25-27th in Mesquite, Nevada. The 2010 Diamond in the Desert Classic requires zero pre-registration and will consist of 2 days of open qualifying to create a competitive field for Saturdays Desert Classic final.

New to the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship sponsorship team this year is Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Slazenger RAW Extreme Distance golf ball. I don’t know what happened to Pinnacle as the official golf ball of the LDA – maybe it just wasn’t extreme enough. Personally – I’m a fan of aggressive.

So if your bored of the snow… lets go hang with the Mesquitos and start swinging.

2009 Media Elements

In 2009 I averaged just over 69 captured media elements a day which is directly on par with the last three years.

I shot 9,582 videos and 14,304 photos on the canon. 1,421 came from the iPhone which is no longer a daily pocket device for me.

ESPN – World Long Drive Championships

WLDC on ESPN

If you missed the telecast – wait for it to hit YouTube or tune in on Christmas day at 12 noon for the next and last airing.

This was a fun event to be a part of this year and I’m looking forward to taking my long drive career to a new level in 2010. Just as long as my manager is on board.

Tune in here to full fill your long drive cravings.

Long Drive Regionals

I went savaging today… unfortunately I came up short.

Hitting golf balls at 9:00 in the morning in 100% humidity isn’t really my style. Coors Lab doesn’t even open until 10:30. So it was hard to get in the groove early – Especially in Phoenix.

Thanks to everyone who supported me through this short 2 week endeavor. I believe that if I have a future in Long Drive, I will have to find some sponsors… and a way around not being able to drink in competition.
