TOTD – Internet Famous

Everybody's Internet Famous

“I have a lot of friends that you could describe as “Internet Famous”. One of the advantages of being an early-adaptor blogger is seeing the careers of some your friends from the early days take of. Sometimes, seeing them take of to the sky, it seems.

Whereas you, well, you’re just the same. Still stuck in the same ol’ same ol’.

Unlike your now-famous rockstar friends. Or whatever.

All is vanity.”

Thunderbolt Technology

  • Dual-channel, each 10 Gbps
  • Bi-directional, equally fast in both directions
  • Dual protocol, PCI Express for hard disks and DisplayPort for monitors
  • Daisy-chain-able, supports up to six devices per channel
  • Woks with both copper and fiber cabling, fiber allows longer cable runs
  • Low latency, very, VERY short delays in transferring signals
  • Delivers up to 10 watts of power over copper wiring, but not fiber, to support bus-powered devices. (Though this is not enough for most hard disks)

I’m researching helicopter production quality… and it looks like there are two players that I have found so far. Let the research continue.

My Rally Fighter

[iDevice Link] <— 5,699 An open source car + A designer with laser vision = the Rally Fighter.

“Imagine a car built by people who are driven by passion… rather then some cubicle monkey worried about his deadlines an TPS reports.”

This is what Local Motors has been dreaming of and building out of their factory in Phoenix, Arizona and their first community co-created production car is the Rally Fighter.

I partied with Local Motors at SEMA – Sat in a Rally Fighter – Tore one apart – Put one back together – And now I want one.

Order Rally Fighter #138 for $59,000 and you get to spend 6 days building it yourself at the Local Motors micro factory and drive it off the lot. Or just call Sarah Stokes directly at (480) 371-6797 and drop your $1,000 down payment. Tell her Hydle sent you, but be careful… she is cooler, smarter and tougher then you are.

Blackbox Oak Case Made in Golden, CO

Working out a nice deal with Blackbox Case to offer the first ever Hydle branded product.

I’ve always been on the lookout for something eye catching and durable to carry my MacBook Pro from mobile edit airstream to airstream… and I finally found it. Best of all — Blackbox Case is located right here in my home town of Golden, Colorado.

With future products + accessories + finishes on the way… I literally love the “branding” potential of this product and am excited to finally offer a product to share with my friends.

TED – Nicholas Christakis – Social

“After mapping humans’ intricate social networks, Nicholas Christakis and colleague James Fowler began investigating how this information could better our lives. Now, he reveals his hot-off-the-press findings: These networks can be used to detect epidemics earlier than ever, from the spread of innovative ideas to risky behaviors to viruses (like H1N1).”

This TED talk will drastically change my future.
