Last week on ABC’s “Nashville” episode 16, Rayna Jaymes Conrad finally gives into her daughters wish of partying like rock stars and allows them to perform a soundcheck for her. Maddie and Daphne (played by Lennon & Maisy Stella) perform this adorable cover of “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers and instantly give replay credit to their 2012 smashing hit.

If you don’t believe these girls are for real, as I didn’t… I suggest you watch this live performance of the two covering the same song last week at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, Tennessee.

The real life Lennon and Maisy Stella are indeed the real thing. They are real sisters from Canada who grew up on a farm without internet and television and nearly play the same age characters in “Nashville” as they are in real life. Lennon Stella (13 years old) and Maisy Stella (8 years old) made themselves famous last May with this instant YouTube hit video [15,507,340 views] performing their unique version of Robyn’s ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ [3,764,522 views].

In real life, Lennon & Maisy’s parents are real musicians performing as “The Stellas” and moved to Nashville in 2009. They won a 2012 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award for music video of the year for their song “In This House”. Lennon & Maisy are featured in the video and can be seen growing up in the Stellas new song “Riding in the Back Seat” [159,698] music video.

In Episode 3 of “Nashville”, Lennon and Maisy perform a cover of Juliette Barnes’ (Hayden Panettiere) “Telescope” [160,475] during a school talent show which hinted at their future talent ability for the future of the show. Rumor has it, they were signed to appear on “Nashville” before they made themselves famous on the interManets.

TOTD – Your Sliver

Hydle - You Can Not Have It All - Hugh

What I have to say:

Think about this on all aspects of life. The brands you choose, the places we choose to live and the friends and relationships we choose to be in.

Pick your sliver well … my friends. Or better yet – with business, we have the ability to create our sliver.

Lets party guys!

What Hugh MacLeod had to say:

“Usually, the deal here is, I draw a cartoon and then write something to go along with it. Some little philosophical add-on to balance it out, etc.

But I got stuck with this one.

The meaning of this cartoon is just so self-evident to me that I really don’t think adding anything will do it justice.

So I’ll just shut up now…

No. Really.”

Fire on the Mountain – Colorado Springs Timelapse

[YouTubeUlar] <— 270,487 Wow - through this video it is obvious how the shift in winds on Tuesday created this nightmare of a fire that ripped through Colorado Springs. The dramatic music and captions add to the wow factor - but I think "Fire on the Mountain" by The Grateful Dead would be a better selection — yes, that was a joke... but it has meaning. For everyone who has expressed concern for the McCulloch Colorado Springs Compound... their house is thus far ok. The Waldo Canyon Fire would have had to burn through a lot of homes to reach theirs... which it nearly did, but fortunately the firefighters were able to hold their ground. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of their neighbors and friends who have lost their homes due to this Colorado Fire Season of 2012. We have loved ones who lost a home in Fort Collins and it is so sad.

This is Country Music

We had an amazing time at the Brad Paisley concert in Denver last night. I don’t know what this country music thing is all about, but after meeting Brad and getting the opportunity to see such a “large performance” show like this with such good company — my cowboy hat continues to come out.

As my country inspiration from Montana – Jesse Alberi states via the Facebook

“Just keep wearin the hat and boots and the country will find you. I Just watched on youtube what you saw live last night… jealous bro.”

It was an incredibly entertaining show with Scotty McCreery, The Band Perry and even Tim Tebow. Watch this as the Band Perry drops for the most epic Tebowing of all time while Brad Paisley and Tebow sang “I’m Still a Guy.” Saying it got loud… is an understatement.

[YouTubeUlar] <— 0 Surprisingly, The Band Perry did NOT sing "Walk Me Down the Middle". Katherine was the proud winner of a Brad Paisley guitar pick. I learned about dog-tags of fallen soldiers. Brad's dad Doug is a story teller. It was a sold out show. Katie + Ryan + Trista... thank you for such a fun night. Here are some highlights.

After getting back to the internets to research some of this country music thing, I found a direct explanation from Brad Paisley’s 3.6 million strong Facebook page. This is Country Music. Pretty cool.

Enjoy.

Uh oh! I have an iPhone Again

After 2 and a half years of “Hit me on my pre-pay!” and GoPhone calculator simplicity… I have finally stepped back into the iPhone world. I can honestly say that I haven’t missed being technical, the trendy factor of owning Apple devices definitely pushed me away from playing in this arena for a while – But now I’m back.
