Winter Park Alpine Slide Year Number 2 LJ All Day Adventure Day. Taking LJ All Day on adventures like these the are most awesome days of being a dad. Every year gets better and better! I can’t wait for the compilation 10 years from now showing LJ growing up through Alpine Slide adventures :)
If you would like to know the important facts about the Winter Park Alpine Slide, children must be at least 2 years old to ride with an adult. That’s the only important fact to know. Buy the all day adventure pass and pray for no rain. Children 4 and under adventure pass for only $15. The Alpine Slide at Winter Park is Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide dropping 610 vertical feet in over 3,000 feet of track.
Highway 40 Disney Avalanche

2019 winter in the Colorado Rockies was monumental. It had been 62 years since a slide on the Disney avalanche path off Highway 40 had reached the road. The Disney slide path is first major avalanche slide path you reach on your way to Winter Park Resort. It is on the south side of the road just outside of Empire before you hit Berthoud Pass … and to say it lightly – this is a monster slide.
Here is another video that is equally interesting to watch from the Denver Copter 7 on the same day … just turn your volume down.

How to throw an innovative and successful ski & snowboard contest … with both Men and Women.
1 – Let it snow
2 – Target a window of time
3 – Choose iconic location
4 – Let the athletes be judges
The 1st annual Kings and Queens of Corbet’s Couloir freeride competition took place during a window of time from July 31st to February 4th, 2018. The actual contest was held on February 1st and 25 athletes took the plunge into one of the worlds most famous ski runs.
Judged on three basic criteria — Speed, commitment and degree of difficulty of line, followed by innovative and progressive maneuvers with control and stomped landings revealed only a single champion King and one female Queen. After an athlete deliberation viewing party and video presentation of all the runs … King Karl Fostvedt and Queen Caite Zeliff were crowned champions.
This was a fantastic event to socially follow … each athlete had their own versions of instaStories to reveal what it was really like to be at and compete in such a great event. Jackson Hole at first rewarded the men with higher pay-days … but after some simple griping from the women they quickly corrected their decision and matched the same winnings to the women. I can’t really say I fully support this decision – but it was the socially correct thing to do.
11 months later, Jackson Hole finally released this video recapping the event … and in perfect timing to amp for the 2nd annual Kings and Queens of Corbet’s to take place during the February 10th – February 16th, 2019 window.

It’s unique … It’s special … on a global scale.
Upon further research after watching this TED Talk about this boiling river in the amazon … I found the shortened version. Enjoy.
“When Andrés Ruzo was a boy, his grandfather would tell him tales of a mythical city of gold deep in the heart of the Peruvian jungle. Though never believing the stories to be true, the legend of the lost city stuck with him into adulthood. Years later, as a geothermal scientist, Ruzo decided to investigate. To his surprise, he discovered an incredulous river deep in the Amazon, with water hot enough to kill a human. Historically a place of pilgrimage for shamans and sorcerers, the river now faces increasing threats from poachers, loggers and squatters. Now, Ruzo is working hard to protect it.”

This song is going to take off, like a rocket.
Wait – it already is. Especially if you watch cult like netflix shows with your girlfriend.
Cloudy Shoes – Damien Jurado
I wish that I could float
Float up from the ground
I will never know
What that’s like
You have a way about you
I wish that I had
Thought it was impossible
To live and love like you
Funny how we all can change
If we just try to
Thought it was impossible
To live and love like you
One day you will be taller
Taller than the sky
Until that day you will be
Here with us below
Magic will do what magic does
Living in your eyes
Do you think someday soon
You will have the time?
I could use another hand
To help pull me through
Someday these hospital stays
Get the best of me
Trying to fix my mind
Still trying to fix my mind
Trying to work it out
I’m still trying to fix my mind
Still trying to fix my mind
I’m still trying to fix my mind
happy birthday dad.
20 Years of the Salomon TenEighty

The first two minutes of this Salomon TV tribute to JP Auclair and the history of the Salomon 1080 is filled with ridiculously awesome banger quotes. Take your pick, and enjoy the flick.
“JP JP JP JP JP JP JP” — Everyone
“I think the greatest thing you can do with one of your friends is to remember them in your hearts and in your minds… and here everybody is and I think it’s just the coolest thing ever. I really do.” — Blake Jorgensen
“Thank’s a lot everyone for coming out on the 20th anniversary of the New Canadian Airforce and honoring a great man … JP Auclair.” — Mike Douglas
“Here we are, Blackcomb wind lip session … it’s been a long time since I’ve seen something like this go down. It’s a throw back to the old days, the tribe has rallied… it’s just good to be here man, it feels like old times.” — Feet Banks
“It’s awesome to see everyone getting fired up, just sending it, just strictly out of love for him.”
“Vinny and JP’s and Szocs and Mike, they are just on the next level”
“Every single trick they did was groundbreaking and never been done before… and what really stood out for us is that a lot of the shots we saw were in Whistler”
Well, this is where we kind of learned a lot of this stuff. So to be back here exactly 20 years later is super super cool.” — Mike Douglas
“That was the first back flip mute I think I’ve done in about 10 years … that one was for JP” — Mike Douglas
“My back is sore, my shins will be sore… and I need a masseuse and a hot tub. I can’t do those hard landings anymore.” — Shane Szocs
“Back to 97 baby!” — Mike Douglas
“Back when skiing was just furry boots and malt cider and like kind of FIS bullshit, these guys stepped up, they turned it around, they took it backwards.”
“And that’s what made them rad.”
“A guy once told me that anything less than 20 years old is just news, it’s not history. And it’s been 20 years now since the TenEighty came out so… I guess we’ll see.” — Mike Douglas
“I sense snowboard coming really big two years ago like all new tricks I was like fuck man – should I change for snow board but, like I said in my mind – ah fuck there is something to do with skiing. There’s not because we got pole that we can’t grab so… last year I started to do flip like mistys and rodeo and I think skiings awesome and we can kick snowboards ass easily.” — JF Cusson
“Skiing was pretty much dead in the 90s, snowboarding was taking off.” — Jonny Moseley
“Skiing was your parents sport. Nobody — No one young with energy or that was cool was getting into skiing.” — Mike Douglas
“And the New Canadian Air Force came along and they invented twin tip skis … and that just like set it off.” — Jonny Moseley
Ian Ruhter – American Dream
[VimeeeeeeeeO] <— 214,000
The American Dream video is based on the fear of success, this thought is extremely powerful, fear has the ability to cripple us from pursuing our dreams. The moment I embraced my dreams it was as if the universe had drawn people to help us and share their stories. Our goal is to tell the stories of the people who live in America.
“If that one little idea is in your head that’s saying I can’t do it … that’s disability right there.”
– Oscar Ricardo Loreto Jr. – @oskervoid
“It’s just like the old way of doing things … just barter and trade.”

The Golden Power Hour
[YouTubeUlar] <— 303
8 years ago we went on a mission in Golden, Colorado … a mission to accomplish as many activities in 1 hour as we possibly could. Welcome to the Golden Power Hour. This video is unique because you can’t do this anymore … you can’t visit Golden Bowl anymore … you can’t buy Apple computers at the Colorado School of Mines Bookstore anymore and you certainly can’t visit the original Tequila’s anymore :( Hell, you can’t even shoot standard definition 4×3 video anymore and upload it to YouTube in 360p. Fortunately, since 1873 the Coors Brewery Tour has been a staple in the ever changing Golden community and they still offer you free 3 samples of Cold Coors Banquets every day. Cheers, Happy Holidays, Let’s grab a beer!
Blacker than Black Magic

This post is a straight reminder of when these cleaning solution selling pieces of awesomeness showed up on my front doorstep back in 2008.
Video 1 (carpet stain)
Video 2 (grill cleaning)
I’m going to be quick like nestle.
They get whiter than my elbows without lotion.
Stevie Wonder says seeing is believing.
I got a disease called enthusiasm.
I’m gonna cut to the mustard.
Wax on wax off like Mr. Miyagi.
That’s why we can’t sell it to criminals.
My mom says if it’s darker than me, and doesn’t pay the bills… it shouldn’t be there right.
You know what HBO means? Help a Brother Out.
Look – you just go back and forth like an argument.
Now I’m not Jesus, but look how I split that like Moses did the Red Sea.
Paint me green, call me a pickle.
That one bottle last longer than my last relationship.
You all got water right? High five, you qualify to use it.
Now this is my last demo, and I’m outta your hair quicker than shampoo.
Would you throw it out, shout it out, get OJ to stab it out, get Mike Tyson to bit it out, Kobe Bryant to…
It was a multiple choice funny joke.
You know you can’t put bleach on colors right.
This is safe on colors, that’s why we can’t sell it to Sammy Sosa.
This right here takes out ink, blood, coffee stains, grass stains, kool-aid, lipstick, gum.
What’s the hardest thing to clean?
Would it be carpet, tile, bbq grill, shower doors, that oil and rust in the driveway that’s blacker than my mother but not as beautiful?
Can I put this on YouTube? Yes ma’am.
What are you selling? Personality. But this sells itself though.
This is called Advantage the Wonder Cleaner.
Best thing since cake and ice cream.
Now unlike madonna, it’s never been touched.
I’m pretty sure windex and bleach never knocked on your door.

Happy 15 Years iPod
Hey Apple – Happy 15 years of MP3 Portable Music Player Awesomeness. Thanks for our 6.5oz – 5 GB – 1,000 song MP3 player that had the first original 20 minute skip protection with a Firewire chargeable battery that provided 10 continuous hours of music playback in an ultra-portable device that ultimately changed the world! I think we can all safely say the last 15 years was better then the 15 years that proceeded it … all due to the ability of rocking out to our own music anywhere we could possibly dream, on our iPods!
I remember my first iPod party … it took 2.5 days to continuously and randomly play all 1,035 songs on my iPod. Ironically, the final song played happened to be “Closing Time” by Semisonic. 2.5 years later Apple partnered with HP + Compaq to to introduce the first and only iPod licensed product called the “Apple iPod by HP”. What a bullshit move really, for Apple fanatics … but in reality it was genius. HP’s tagline at the time was “Invent” which was laughable, but in 2004 HP shipped over 30 million computers, which all had iTunes compounded with the iTunes Music Store as the default music player. The rest of the story … is just history.
