Mountains Are Fun

“Super cool buddies who hopefully love me enough to pimp! As you may know, my 9th full time job is making movies about crazy people. The new trailer for my next crazy people movie is done and we are trying to get a buzz on it.

Greatly appreciate it if you could watch it and if you are so inclined forward it around, post on facebook, tweet, etc.”

Anything you can do to get people to check it out or forward it around, comment on it, etc….greatly appreciated!

A few things before you watch from questions I have gotten from others:

  • The unicyclist is on the edge of a 2500 foot cliff… his tire is a couple inches
  • Simon Dumont travels about 200 feet in the air and reaches an apex of about 100 feet high in the air before touchdown on ice
  • The cliff the ski jumper front flips is 210 feet high
  • The guy jumping over the road is coming from about 100 feet in the air or like jumping off a 10 story building over a road
  • The song is the new single from the band Bush…thank you Gavin!

Comparing this teaser to the first What Planet the Fuck are You From? rollout – I would have to say I enjoy the first teaser by 1000% yes. But kudos to Red Bull and Brain Farm for revealing more footage in this completely different yet still awe inspiring teaser. However the music completely sucks and it’s ad driven… pathetic.

I recently exchanged some quick emails with JP Auclair to see what he has been up to. Fall is approaching so I wanted to find out what movies I could expect his involvement in this year.

Below is a quick list of where he has been spending his skiing and editing time.

Sherpas Cinema – All.I.Can

I got involved with the sherpas later on… So , no involvement in the teaser. But I shot with them quite a bit last winter, mostly for a urban segment, we shot it with a slightly different approach then I’d been doing in the past (the seg will be about 4 minutes) I’m pretty excited about it.

And right now I’m trying to help out with the movie as a whole, so I’ve became pretty invested in it. Really cool project!

MSP’s latest teaser “Attack of La Niña” showcases that they are on board with Manchester Orchestra. So today marks the day of two great things coming together – Skiing + Manchester Orchestra. A quick search at Ski Movie Music proves this fact… and I can’t wait for more production companies to jump on board.

Keyboardist and second drummer Chris “Lighting” Freeman states… Virgin is his new favorite song. So congratulations MSP on introducing the sound of Manchester into the skiing community.

[Vimeo] <— 104,000 Hey Josh... thanks for dropping this on my wall and informing me of Level 1 Productions latest creation. Upon first watch... I have to say this is a very dark teaser. Since the name of the video this year is After Dark – I’m going to let if fly.

I counted 5 *holy shit* moments – 4 *what the* moments – and 20 different rewinds to figure out what in the hell is going on. Favorite shot is at 1:20 – looks like a quarter to reverse quarter transfer… so sick.

“Monster athlete Parker White made his way to Hokkaido, Japan with Level 1 for two weeks in February to chase pow, pillows, and Japanese schoolgirls. The crew saw as much sun as snow for the duration of the trip, but a few smaller cycles dumped enough snow to make it all worthwhile.
